This course is intended to provide basic health and safety knowledge for all operatives and employees:

- New entrants to the organisation.
- To enforce the organisation’s health and safety policies and procedures to existing employees.
- To provide a level of knowledge, understanding and responsibility for all staff.

Programme support materials:
Delegates will receive:
- Programme handouts
- A copy of CIEH’s Health and Safety in the workplace handbook
Programme style
- Throughout the day, delegates will be asked to take part in exercises, either in groups or individually.
- At the end of the course, delegates will be required to be assessed by a short objective test consisting of 30 multiple choice questions. To pass, delegates must achieve a minimum of 20 correct answers.
Programme requirements
- Delegates may find it useful to bring a pen and some paper so that they can take any notes that they want to
- Delegates need to arrive in a positive frame of mind
- It is advisable that delegates have a good level of spoken and written English
Further Information
- The course can be delivered as one full day, or as two half days
- Dates can be arranged to suit the individual company requirements
- Group size: 5-15 delegates
- Training can take place at an organisation’s own site or any location with training facilities
Further Development
Delegates may wish to progress onto the CIEH Intermediate Certificate in Health and Safety.
